How do I get the right parts for a boat repair?
Work from the engine or equipment plate, not the boat model — impellers, filters and anodes are specific to the unit. On Marine Match you can send a parts request from a job to local chandleries and compare price, stock and lead time line by line before anyone orders.
Marine parts are unforgiving about near-enough. An impeller that is a millimetre out, or an anode in the wrong alloy for the water you sit in, will fail early. Photograph the engine plate and any part numbers on the old item before it goes in the bin.
Lead time often matters more than price in season. A chandlery with the part on the shelf may save you a fortnight of not using the boat, which is worth more than a small saving on a mail-order item.
